About the Event

What: Day Run

Where: Lagomarsino Petroglyphs

Travel Time: 4-5 hours

Trailboss: TBD

What to Bring: Recovery gear (shovels, ropes, straps, shackles, traction aids, etc.), cold weather gear (layers), water, snacks, lunch, chairs,  HAM radio.

Frequencies: 146.460 alt 146.052

Trail Rating: 6 - Roads are difficult, with considerable erosion damage repaired enough to be passable. Water (or snow) over 12" is possible with mud conditions. Steps not exceeding 24". Tall tires (33" plus) and traction aid devices (lockers, limited slips, A-TRAC) are recommended. A winch would be a plus. Enhanced suspension travel and ground clearance are helpful. Excellent driving skills are recommended. Body damage is possible, so skit plates, sliders, and high-clearance bumpers are a good idea.

Details

Usually, this is a mild-to-moderate run with some light riverbed crossings. The snow will intensify the run. The last obstacle before we park for lunch and on-foot exploring is a steep hill with a tight approach angle coming out of a water crossing. Lower vehicles or vehicles with big butts will struggle here. Recommend 33-inch tires or bigger and a rugged rear bumper (ask me how I know!). The terrain frequently changes in this region, so come prepared for mud and snow too.
