Meet Up 1: Caravan Departs Maverik Gas Station in Minden at 9AM
Trailhead: Deer Valley Trailhead at Lower Blue Lakes
Trail Scale: 6 - Intermediate. Roads are difficult with considerable erosion damage repaired just enough to be passable. Water in excess of 12" is possible with mud conditions. Steps not exceeding 24". Tall tires (33" plus) and traction aid devices (at least a rear locker, limited slips, A-TRAC) are Required. A winch would be a plus. Enhanced suspension travel and ground clearance are helpful. Excellent driving skills (or good spotters) are recommended. Body, suspension, and drivetrain damage are possible.
What to Bring: Bring cold weather gear (just in case). Water, snacks, lunch, chairs, recovery gear, HAM radio.

Mark is keeping an eye on early-season road and trail closures. This may cause an abrupt cancelation, so keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates as the date approaches. We are entering Deer Valley from the north. This means that the gatekeeper comes first. We have had members snap ring gears on this one, so wheel at your own risk and avoid shock-loading your drivetrain. Several of the club members attending are old hat at this trail and will guide you through the rough spots. We will exit on Hwy 4 and head home via Hwy 395 North. Some of us may stop somewhere on our way home for dinner. All are welcome.
